Meher Nanki Arora is a 10-year-old author from Delhi, India. She was born in Mumbai, and when she was three, she moved with her family to Delhi, to grow up closer to her grandparents and enjoy the freedom and space of their ancestral home. Her love for storytelling and creativity was fostered by the endless stories she heard from her Dadi, the “story machine”, till recently. Her love for books and reading came from her time spent at the wonderful OneUp library in Delhi, under the loving guidance of Dalbir aunty.
In a home that kindled creativity, imagination and free spirit, she discovered her own unique way to write from her heart. From letters to Santa Claus and her friends, her own diary and scripts for little performances with friends, she graduated to writing short stories and then longer ones. Her writing has the innocence of a 10-year-old, but the maturity of someone much older. Her characters, the relationships and the underlying message give texture and gravity to the pure and simple stories told from her heart.
Meher is fortunate to study at Step by Step School, Noida, where her teachers have nurtured her creative spark. She is a budding artist, an aspiring multilingual thinker and a young girl who dreams of being a basketballer or a designer. But most of all, she is a proud author. She lives with her Dadu, parents, younger brother and her darling dog, Toffle. And over weekends, she tries to squeeze time out from homework, writing and zoom chats with friends to spend some time with her Nanu-Nani, preferably over a shopping trip!
